WHO Founded in 1923, the American Thyroid Association (ATA) is a professional society of over 1,300 U.S. and international physicians and scientists who specialize in research and treatment of thyroid diseases. The ATA is dedicated to promoting scientific and public understanding of the biology of the thyroid gland and its disorders, so as to improve methods for prevention, diagnosis, and management. The ATA fosters excellence in research, patient care, and education of patients, the public, and the medical and scientific communities. The ATA also guides public policy about the prevention and management of thyroid diseases. WHAT The ATA Spring 2010 Meeting will bring together physicians and health care professionals to share the newest clinical approaches to thyroid disease. The meeting is designed to appeal to a broad audience of clinicians and features distinguished lectures, symposia, “meet the professor” workshops, and panel discussions. Committee and governance meetings are held, Association members are honored, and guidelines task forces meet in person. Exhibitors present related pharmaceutical, laboratory, diagnostic, publication, and organizational products and services. Every fifth year, the American Thyroid Association joins with the Latin American Thyroid Society, the European Thyroid Association, and the Asia Oceania Thyroid Association for an International Thyroid Congress. In 2010, the ITC will be held September 11-16 in Paris, France. WHY YOU NEED TO BE THERE:
